BINARY NAMING

It's common to try and memorize names for ionic and covalent compounds, but this is a lot of unnecessary work! Your periodic table is your friend.  The more you see it's patterns, the easier it will be to understand why atoms and ions group together, in what proportions, and how naming reflects those proportions.  Please feel free to download and share this tutorial if it helps you with your high school or college course and test prep.  You should always use a periodic table when naming, so you can download one here:
